There’s no question about it, City Park is one of the most lively and interesting neighborhoods in all of Denver.
City Park was already well underway by the time the City Beautiful movement of 1893 was implemented. Designed to mimic New York’s Central Park, it became so expansive the entire residential neighborhood would wind up being only two blocks wide and running only one mile long making it a low-residency area.
Well kept properties and beautiful tree-lined streets, stately Denver squares, Queen Anne, Victorians and bungalows and some high rise apartments are attractive, however, the ease of walking to local shops, restaurants and entertainment on historic Colfax Ave’s in the Bluebird District is a big draw for most residents. Ok, maybe the 330 acres of park, the largest in Denver, could also be the draw for families and individuals. Biking, boating, tennis and golf, City Park is also home to the Denver Zoo, Denver Museum of Nature and Science, two lakes, a boathouse and City Park Golf Course.
