In 1945, based on the threat of an airport being built too close to what is now Cherry Hills Village, the quiet Denver suburb decided to incorporate. First ordinance passed? A height clearance ordinance at which airplanes could fly over. As a result, there would be no airport built! In 1966 Cherry Hills Village became a Home Rule City complete with its own form of government.
